ತತ್ರ ದಿವ್ಯೋಪಮಂಮುಖ್ಯಂ ಸ್ಫಾಟಿಕಂ ರತ್ನಭೂಷಿತಮ್|
ಅವೇಕ್ಷಮಾಣೋ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ದದರ್ಶ ಶಯನಾಸನಮ್||1||

ಸ||ತತ್ರ ಅವೇಕ್ಷಮಾಣೋ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಸ್ಫಾಟಿಕಂ ರತ್ನ ಭೂಷಿತಮ್ ದಿವ್ಯೋಪಮಮ್ ಮುಖ್ಯಂ ಶಯನಾಸನಮ್ ದದರ್ಶ||

There while looking around Hanuman saw a fine, heavenly looking, excellent couch made with crystals and encrusted with gems.

ದಾಂತಕಾಂಚನ ಚಿತ್ರಾಂಗೈಃ ವೈಢೂರ್ಯೈಶ್ಚ ವರಾಸನೈಃ|
ಮಹಾರ್ಹಾಸ್ತರಣೋಪೇತೈಃ ಉಪಪನ್ನಂ ಮಹಾಧನೈಃ||2||

ಸ|| (ತತ್ ಶಯನಾಸನಮ್) ದಾಂತಕಾಂಚನ ಚಿತ್ರಾಂಗೈಃ ವೈಡೂರ್ಯೈಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾರ್ಹತರುಣೋಪೇತೈಃ ಮಹಾಧನೈಃ ವರಾಸನೈಃ ಉಪಪನ್ನಮ್ (ಅಸ್ತಿ)||

That couch was inlaid with colorful ivory and gold as well as Vaidurya. It was rich with fine coverings.

ತಸ್ಯಚೈಕತಮೇ ದೇಶೇ ಸೋsಗ್ರ್ಯಮಾಲಾವಿಭೂಷಿತಮ್|
ದದರ್ಶ ಪಾಂಡುರಂ ಛತ್ರಂ ತಾರಾಧಿಪತಿ ಸನ್ನಿಭಮ್||3||

ಸ|| ಸ ತಸ್ಯ ಏಕತಮೇ ದೇಶೇ ಅಗ್ರ್ಯಮಾಲಾವಿಭೂಷಿತಮ್ ತಾರಾಧಿಪಸನ್ನಿಭಂ ಪಾಂಡುರಂ ಛತ್ರಂ ದದರ್ಶ||

He saw in one corner (of the couch) a white umbrella decorated with best of garlands looking like the Moon among the stars.

ಸ|| ಹನುಮತಃ ಪರಮಾಸನಮ್ ಜಾತರೂಪ ಪರಿಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತಂ ಚಿತ್ರಭಾನು ಸಮ ಪ್ರಭಮ್ ಅಶೋಕಮಾಲಾವಿತತಮ್ (ತಂ ಪರಮಾಸನಮ್) ದದರ್ಶ|| ವ್ಯಾಲವ್ಯಜನ ಹಸ್ತಾಭಿಃ ವೀಜ್ಯಮಾನಂ (ತಂ ದದರ್ಶ) | ವಿವಿಧೈಃ ಗಂಧೈಶ್ಚ ಜುಷ್ಟಂ ವರಧೂಪೇಣ ಧೂಪಿತಂ (ತಂ ಶಯನಾಸನಂ ದದರ್ಶ)|| ಪರಮಾಸ್ತರಣಾಸ್ತೀರ್ಣಮ್ ಆವಿಕಾಜಿನ ಸಂವೃತಮ್ ಸಮಂತಾತ್ ದಾಮಭಿಃ ವರಮಾಲ್ಯಾನಾಂ ಉಪಶೋಭಿತಮ್ ತಂ ಶಯನಾಸನಂ ದದರ್ಶ||

Hanuman saw an exquisite couch made of gold, shining like Sun decorated with Ashoka flowers. He saw women holding fans made of the hair of Chamari deer. It was full of excellent fragrances spreading all over. It was covered with best of bedspreads. It was covered with soft sheep skin. It was delightful looking with garlands of strings all over.

ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಜೀಮೂತಸಂಕಾಶಂ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ತೋತ್ತಮಕುಂಡಲಮ್|
ಲೋಹಿತಾಕ್ಷಂ ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಂ ಮಹಾರಜತವಾಸಸಮ್||7||

ಸ|| ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಜೀಮೂತಸಂಕಾಶಂ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ತೋತ್ತಮಕುಂಡಲಮ್ ಮಹಾರಜತವಾಸಸಂ ಲೋಹಿತಾಕ್ಷಂ (ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ /ಶಯಾನಂ) ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಂ (ದದರ್ಶ)||

In that ( he saw) one with red eyes with flashing earrings looking like a cloud with great arms adorned in robes of silver texture.

ಲೋಹಿತೇನಾನುಲಿಪ್ತಾಂಗಂ ಚಂದನೇನ ಸುಗಂಧಿನಾ|
ಸಂಧ್ಯಾರಕ್ತ ಮಿವಾಕಾಶೇ ತೋಯದಂ ಸತಟಿದ್ಗಣಮ್||8||
ವೃತ ಮಾಭರಣೈಃ ದಿವ್ಯೈಃ ಸುರೂಪಂ ಕಾಮರೂಪಿಣಮ್|
ಸ ವೃಕ್ಷವನಗುಲ್ಮಾಢ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತ ಮಿವ ಮಂದರಮ್||9||

ಸ||(ಸಃ) ಲೋಹಿತೇನ ಸುಗಂಧಿನಾ ಚಂದನೇನ ಅನುಲಿಪ್ತಾಂಗಂ ದಿವ್ಯೈಃ ಅಭರಣೈಃ ವೃತಂ ಸಃ ರಾವಣಃ ಸಂಧ್ಯಾರಕ್ತಂ ಸತಟಿದ್ಗಣಮ್ ತೋಯದಂ ಇವ ಅದೃಶ್ಯತ| ಸುರೂಪಂ ಕಾಮರೂಪಿಣಮ್ ಸಃ ವೃಕ್ಷವನಗುಲ್ಮಾಡ್ಯಂ ಮಂದರಂ ಇವ (ತಂ) ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ (ರಾವಣಂ ದದರ್ಶ)||

He saw Ravana who was having limbs smeared with fragrant red colored Sandal paste, wearing wonderful ornaments looking like twilight streaked with lightning. He is with wonderful form, capable of changing his form at will looking like Mandara mountain with thick trees and bushes (sleeping on that couch)

ಕ್ರೀಡಿ ತ್ವೋಪರತಂ ರಾತ್ರೌ ವರಾಭರಣಭೂಷಿತಮ್|
ಪ್ರಿಯಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಕನ್ಯಾನಾಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾನಾಂ ಸುಖಾವಹಮ್||10||
ಪೀತ್ವಾsಪ್ಯುಪರತಮ್ ಚಾಪಿ ದದರ್ಶ ಸ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ|
ಭಾಸ್ವರೇ ಶಯನೇ ವೀರಂ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಮ್||11||

ಸ|| ರಾತ್ರೌ ಕ್ರೀಡಿತ್ವಾ ಉಪರತಂ ವರಾಭರಣಭೂಷಿತಮ್ ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಕನ್ಯಾನಾಂ ಪ್ರಿಯಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾನಾಂ ಸುಖಾವಹಂ (ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ) ತಂ (ಸಃ ದದರ್ಶ)|| ಪೀತ್ವಾ ಉಪರತಂ ಚ ಭಾಸ್ವರಂ ಶಯನೇ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ ವೀರಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಂ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ದದರ್ಶ||

Having enjoyed during the night , wearing choicest ornaments, the darling of Rakshasa maidens who brings joy (was seen sleeping on that couch). Hanuman saw the heroic king of Rakshasas, sleeping on that glittering couch relaxing after drinking.

ನಿಶ್ಶ್ವಸಂತಂ ಯಥಾ ನಾಗಂ ರಾವಣಂ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭ|
ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ಪರಮೋದ್ವಿಗ್ನಃ ಸ್ಸೋಪಾಸರ್ಪತ್ಸು ಭೀತವತ್||12||
ಅಧಾssರೋಹಣ ಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ರಾವಣಂ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭಃ |
ಸುಪ್ತಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಶಾರ್ದೂಲಂ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷತೇ ಸ್ಮ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ||13||
ಶುಶುಭೇ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಸ್ವಪತ ಶಯನೋತ್ತಮಮ್|
ಗಂಧ ಹಸ್ತಿನಿ ಸಂವಿಷ್ಟೇ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಸ್ರವಣಂ ಮಹತ್||14||

ಸ||ಸಃ ವಾನರರ್ಷಭಃ ಯಥಾ ನಾಗಂ ನಿಃ ಶ್ವಸಂತಂ ರಾವಣಂ ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ಪರಮೋದ್ವಿಗ್ನಃ ಸುಭೀತವತ್ ಉಪಾಸರ್ಪತ್||ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ಅಥ ಆರೋಹಣಮ್ ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ವೇದಿಕಾಂತರಂ ಆಶ್ರಿತಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಶಾರ್ದೂಲಂ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷತೇ ಸ್ಮ|| ಸ್ವಪತಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಶಯನೋತ್ತಮಮ್ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಸ್ರವಣೇ ಸಂವಿಷ್ಟೇ ಮಹತ್ ಗಂಧಿಹಸ್ತಿನಿ ಇವ ಅಸ್ತಿ||

The bull among the Vanaras having reached a place near Ravana who was breathing like a hissing serpent, was distressed and stepped back in fear. (Then)The great Vanara climbed the stairs reaching another altar looked at the king of Rakshasas. The King of Rakshasas sleeping on that best of couches looked like an elephant in rut on the Prasravana hill.

ವಿಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತೌ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಭುಜಾವಿಂದ್ರಧ್ವಜೋಪಮೌ||15||
ಐರಾವತ ವಿಷಾಣಾಗ್ರೈ ರಾಪೀಡನಕೃತವ್ರಣೌ|
ವಜ್ರೋಲ್ಲಿಖಿತಪೀನಾಂಸೌ ವಿಷ್ಣುಚಕ್ರಪರಿಕ್ಷಿತೌ||16||

ಸ|| ಕಾಂಚನಾಂಗನಸನ್ನದ್ಧೌ ವಿಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತೌ ಇನ್ದ್ರಧ್ವಜೌಪಮೌ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಭುಜೌ ದದರ್ಶ| ಇರಾವತವಿಷಾಣಾಗ್ರೈಃ ಆಪೀಡಕೃತವ್ರಣೌ ವಜ್ರೋಲ್ಲಿಖಿತಪೀನಾಂಸೌ ವಿಷ್ಣುಚಕ್ರಪರಿಕ್ಷಿತೌ (ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಭುಜೌ ದದರ್ಶ)||

The two arms of the king of Rakshasas adorned with golden straps looked like a pair of flagstaffs of Indra. He saw the arms which were torn by the Iravata the Indra's mount and having scars of injury. He saw the arms which were with scars caused by the thunder bolt of Indra, which were wounded by Vishnu's discus.

ಪೀನೌ ಸಮಸುಜಾತಾಂಶೌ ಸಂಗತೌ ಬಲಸಂಯುತೌ|
ಸುಲಕ್ಷಣ ನಖಾಂಗುಷ್ಟೌ ಸ್ವಂಗುಳೀತಲ ಲಕ್ಷಿತೌ||17||
ಸಂಹತೌ ಪರಿಘಾಕಾರೌ ವೃತ್ತೌ ಕರಿಕರೌಪಮೌ|
ವಿಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತೌ ಶಯನೇ ಶುಭ್ರೇ ಪಂಚಶೀರ್ಷಾವಿವೌರಗೌ||18||

ಸ||(ತಸ್ಮೈ) ಪೀನೌ ಸಮಸುಜಾತಾಂಸೌ ಸಂಗತೌ ಬಲಸಂಯುತೌ ಸುಲಕ್ಷನನಖಾಂಗುಷ್ಠೌ ಸ್ವಂಗುಳೀತಲ ಲಕ್ಷಿತೌ ತೌ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಸ್ಯ ಭುಜೌ ದದರ್ಶ)|| ಸಂಹಿತೌ ಪರಿಘಾಕಾರೌ ಕರಿಕರೌಪಮೌ ವೃತ್ತೌ ಪಂಚಶೀರ್ಷಾ ಉರಗೌ ಇವ ಶುಭ್ರೇ ಶಯನೌ ವಿಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತೌ ತೌ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಧಿಪಸ್ಯ ಭುಜೌ ದದರ್ಶ||
ಶಶಕ್ಷತಜಕಲ್ಪೇನ ಸುಶೀತೇನ ಸುಗಂಧಿನಾ|

He saw the two arms which are fleshy, tough, strong and well built. The arms were with with shapely thumb nails on shapely fingers. Well fixed rounded like iron crow bars resembling the tusks of an elephant, the two arms looked like a two five hooded serpents.

ಶಶಕ್ಷಜತಕಲ್ಪೇನ ಸುಶೀತೇನ ಸುಗಂಧಿನಾ |
ಚಂದನೇನ ಪರಾರ್ಥ್ಯೇನ ಸ್ವನುಲಿಪ್ತೌ ಸ್ವಲಂಕೃತೌ ||19||
ಉತ್ತಮಸ್ತ್ರೀವಿಮೃದಿತೌ ಗಂಧೋತ್ತಮನಿಷೇವಿತೌ|
ಯಕ್ಷ ಕಿನ್ನರ ಗಂಧರ್ವ ದೇವ ದಾನವ ರಾವಿಣೌ||20||

ಸ|| ಸುಶೀತೇನ ಸುಗಂಧಿನಾ ಶಶಕ್ಷಜತಕಲ್ಪೇನ ಪರಾರ್ಥ್ಯೇನ ಚಂದನೇನ ಸ್ವನುಲಿಪ್ತೌ (ಭುಜೌ ದದರ್ಶ) || ಉತ್ತಮಸ್ತ್ರೀವಿಮೃದಿತೌ ಗನ್ಧೋತ್ತಮನಿಷೇವಿತೌ ಯಕ್ಷ ಕಿನ್ನರ ಗಂಧರ್ವ ದೇವ ದಾನವ ರಾವಿಣೌ ತೌ ಭುಜೌ ದದರ್ಶ||

The two arms were besmeared with cool fragrant red sandal paste of excellent quality which looked red like hare's blood. Massaged by the best of women and anointed by best of fragrances, those arms could make Yaksha, Kinnara Gandharvas, Devas , and Danavs cry in fear on sight.

ದದರ್ಶ ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ತಸ್ಯ ಬಾಹೂ ಶಯನಸಂಸ್ಥಿತೌ|
ಮಂದರಸ್ಯಾಂತರೇ ಸುಪ್ತೌ ಮಹಾಹೀ ರುಷಿತಾ ಇವ||21||
ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಭುಜಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಶ್ವರಃ|
ಶುಶುಭೇsಚಲಸಂಕಾಶಃ ಶೃಂಗಾಭ್ಯಾಮಿವ ಮಂದರಃ||22||

ಸ|| ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ತತ್ರ ಮಂದರಸ್ಯ ಅಂತರೇ ಸುಪ್ತೌ ರುಷಿತೌ ಮಹಾಹೀ ಇವ ಶಯನಸಂಸ್ಥಿತೌ ತಸ್ಯ ಬಾಹೂ ದದರ್ಶ||ಅಚಲ ಸಂಕಾಶಃ ಸಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಶ್ವರಃ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಮ್ ಭುಜಾಭ್ಯಾಮ್ ಶೃಂಗಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಮಂದರ ಇವ ಶುಶುಭೇ||

The Vanara saw the two arms resting on the couch like two angry serpents asleep in the caves of Mount Mandara. The king of Rakshasas with the fully developed arms looked like Mandara mountain with two lofty peaks.

ಚೂತಪುನ್ನಾಗಸುರಭಿ ರ್ವಕುಳೋತ್ತಮಸಂಯುತಃ|
ಮೃಷ್ಟಾನ್ನರಸಸಂಯುಕ್ತಃ ಪಾನಗಂಧಪುರಸ್ಸರಃ||23||
ತಸ್ಯ ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಸಿಂಹಸ್ಯ ನಿಶ್ಚಕ್ರಾಮ ಮಹಾಮುಖಾತ್|
ಶಯಾನಸ್ಯ ವಿನಿಶ್ಶ್ವಾಸಃ ಪೂರಯನ್ನಿವ ತದ್ಗೃಹಮ್||24||

ಸ|| ಶಯಾನಸ್ಯ ತಸ್ಯ ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಸಿಂಹಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾಮುಖಾತ್ ಚೂತಪುನ್ನಾಗ ಸುರಭಿಃ ವಕುಳೋತ್ತಮಸಂಯುಕ್ತಃ ಮೃಷ್ಟಾನ್ನರಸಂಯುಕ್ತಃ ಪಾನಗಂಧ ಪುರಸ್ಸರಃ ವಿನಿಃಶ್ವಾಸಃ ನಿಶ್ಚಕ್ರಾಮ| ತತ್ ಗೃಹಂ ಪೂರಯನ್ನಿವ ಅಸ್ತಿ||

While he was sleeping , from the mouth of that lion of the Rakshasas came breath that carried the fragrance of Punnaga and Mango blossoms mixed with the fragrance of best Bakula flowers and also the aroma of food and drinks. It was pervading through the whole palace.

ಮುಕ್ತಾಮಣಿ ವಿಚಿತ್ರೇಣ ಕಾಂಚನೇನ ವಿರಾಜಿತಮ್|
ಮುಕುಟೇನಾಪವೃತ್ತೇನ ಕುಂಡಲೋಜ್ಜ್ವಲಿತಾನನಮ್||25||
ರಕ್ತಚಂದನ ದಿಗ್ದೇನ ತಥಾ ಹಾರೇಣ ಶೋಭಿನಾ |
ಪೀನಾಯತ ವಿಶಾಲೇನ ವಕ್ಷಸಾsಭಿವಿರಾಜಿತಮ್||26||
ಪಾಂಡರೇಣಾಪವಿದ್ಧೇನ ಕ್ಷೌಮೇಣ ಕ್ಷತಜೇಕ್ಷಣಮ್|
ಮಹಾರ್ಹೇಣ ಸುಸಂವೀತಂ ಪೀತೇ ನೋತ್ತಮವಾಸಸಾ||27||

ಸ|| ಮುಕ್ತಾಮಣಿವಿಚಿತ್ರೇಣ ಕಾಂಚನೇನ ಅಪವೃತೇನ ಮಕುಟೇನ ವಿರಾಜಿತಮ್ ಕುಣ್ಡಲೋಜ್ಜ್ವಲಿತಾನನಮ್ (ಸಃ ದದರ್ಶ)||ರಕ್ತಚಂದನ ದಿಗ್ಧೇನ ಹಾರೇಣ ಶೋಭಿನಾ ಪೀನಾಯತ ವಿಶಾಲೇನ ವಕ್ಷಸಾ ಅಭಿವಿರಾಜಿತಮ್ ಪಾಣ್ಡುರೇಣ ಅಪವಿದ್ಧೇನ ಕ್ಷೌಮೇಣ ಕ್ಷತಜೇಕ್ಷಣಾಮ್ ಮಹಾರ್ಹೇಣ ಪೀತೇನ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಸಸಾ ಸುಸಂವೀತಮ್ (ತಂ ದದರ್ಶ)||

Hanuman saw (Ravana) with the crown made of gold studded with pearls and gems set aside and his face was shining with ear rings. His fleshy and broad chest smeared with bright sandal paste shining with a very splendid necklace which is slightly out of place. With blood red eyes, he was wearing a white silken cloth which is slightly of its of place, and is covered with a very expensive yellow upper garment.

ಗಾಂಗೇ ಮಹತಿ ತೋಯಾಂತೇ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಮಿವ ಕುಂಜರಮ್||28||
ಚತುರ್ಭಿಃ ಕಾಂಚನೈರ್ದೀಪ್ತೈಃ ದೀಪ್ಯಮಾನ ಚತುರ್ದಿಶಮ್|

ಸ|| ಮಾಷರಾಶೀಪ್ರತೀಕಾಶಂ ಭುಜಂಗವತ್ ನಿಃಶ್ವಸಂತಂ ಮಹತಿ ಗಾಂಗೇ ತೋಯಾನ್ತೇ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ ಕುಂಜರಂ ಇವ (ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಂ ತಂ ದದರ್ಶ)|| ಚತುರ್ಭಿಃ ದೀಪೈಃ ದೀಪ್ಯಮಾನಾ ಚತುರ್ದಿಶಮ್ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಗಣೈಃ ಪ್ರಕಾಶೀಕೃತ ಮೇಘಂ ಇವ (ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಕೃತ) ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಂ (ತಂ ದದರ್ಶ)||

He was resembling a heap of black beans. Sighing heavily like a hissing serpent, he was looking like an elephant sleeping on the banks of river Ganges. With four golden lamps glowing on the four sides of the bed all four directions were illuminated. With all limbs lit up he looked like a black cloud with streaks of lightning.

ಪಾದಮೂಲಗತಾಶ್ಚಾಪಿ ದದರ್ಶ ಸುಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ|
ಪತ್ನೀಃ ಸ ಪ್ರಿಯಭಾರ್ಯಸ್ಯ ತಸ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಃಪತೇರ್ಗೃಹೇ||30||
ಸ|| ಸುಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ ಪಾದಮೂಲಗತಾಃ ಪತ್ನೀಶ್ಚ ಸಪ್ರಿಯಭಾರ್ಯಸ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಃ ಪತೇಃ ಗೃಹೇ (ದದರ್ಶ)||

The Vanara saw the king of Rakshasas in that palace with his dear wives who were resting at his feet.

ಅಮ್ಲಾನಮಾಲ್ಯಾಭರಣಾ ದದರ್ಶ ಹರಿಯೂಥಪಃ||31||
ಸ|| ಹರಿಯೂಥಪಃ ಶಶಿಪ್ರಕಾಶವದನಾಃ ಚಾರುಕುಣ್ಡಲಭೂಷಿತಾಃ ಅಮ್ಲಾನಮಾಲ್ಯಾಭರಣಾಃ ದದರ್ಶ||

The Vanara saw the wives of Ravana whose faces were bright as the moon adorned with beautiful ear rings and fresh floral garlands.

ನೃತ್ತವಾದಿತ್ರಕುಶಲಾ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಭುಜಾಂಕಗಾಃ|
ವರಾಭರಣಧಾರಿಣ್ಯೋ ನಿಷಣ್ಣಾ ದದೃಶೇ ಹರಿಃ||32||
ವಜ್ರವೈಢೂರ್ಯಗರ್ಭಾಣಿ ಶ್ರವಣಾಂತೇಷು ಯೋಷಿತಮ್|
ದದರ್ಶ ತಾಪನೀಯಾನಿ ಕುಂಡಲಾನ್ಯಂಗದಾನಿ ಚ||33||
ತಾಸಾಂ ಚಂದ್ರೋಪಮೈರ್ವಕ್ತ್ರೈಃ ಶುಭೇರ್ಲಲಿತಕುಂಡಲೈಃ|
ವಿರರಾಜ ವಿಮಾನಂ ತನ್ನಭಃ ತಾರಾಗಣೈರಿವ ||34||

ಸ|| ಹರಿಃ ನೃತ್ತವಾದಿತ್ರಕುಶಲಾಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರ ಭುಜಾಂಕಗಾಃ ವರಾಭರಣಧಾರಿಣ್ಯಃ ನಿಷಣ್ಣಾಃ ದದರ್ಶ||ಶ್ರವಣಾಂತೇಷು ಯೋಷಿತಂ ವಜ್ರವೈಢೂರ್ಯಗರ್ಭಾಣಿ ತಾಪನೀಯಾನಿ ಕುಣ್ಡಲಾನಿ ಅಂಗದಾನಿಚ ದದರ್ಶ||ಲಲಿತಕುಣ್ಡಲೈಃ ಚಂದ್ರೋಪಮೈಃ ಶುಭೈಃ ವಕ್ತ್ರೈಃ ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನಂ ತಾರಗಣೈಃ ನಭಃ ಇವ ವಿರರಾಜ||

He saw women proficient in dancing and playing instruments, wearing best of ornaments resting on his shoulders. He saw women with earrings encrusted with diamonds and Vaiduryas, golden armlets as well as bracelets worn on the upper part of the arm. There the beautiful moon like faces of the women were illumined by the lovely earrings on the exceptional bed which looked like the sky with resplendent stars.

ಮದವ್ಯಾಯಾಮಖಿನ್ನಸ್ತಾ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಯೋಷಿತಃ|
ತೇಷು ತೇಷ್ವವಕಾಶೇಷು ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾಸ್ತನುಮಧ್ಯಮಾಃ||35||
ಅಂಗಹಾರೈಃ ತಥೈವಾನ್ಯಾ ಕೋಮಲೈರೈರ್ವೃತ್ತಶಾಲಿನೀ|
ವಿನ್ಯಸ್ತ ಶುಭಸರ್ವಾಂಗೀ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ವರವರ್ಣಿನೀ||36||

ಸ| ಮದವ್ಯಾಯಾಮಖಿನ್ನಾಃ ತನುಮ್ಮಧ್ಯಮಾಃ ತಾಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೇಂದ್ರಸ್ಯ ಯೋಷಿತಾಃ ತೇಷು ತೇಷು ಅವಕಾಶೇಷು ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾಃ||ಅನ್ಯಾ ನೃತ್ತಶಾಲಿನೀ ವರವರ್ಣಿನೀ ಕೋಮಲೈಃ ಅಂಗಹಾರೈಃ ತಥೈವ ವಿನ್ಯಸ್ತ ಶುಭ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗೀ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ||

Exhausted by drinking and other exercises, the wives of Ravana, who were of slender waist, slept here and there after having their dalliances. Another women of extremely beautiful complexion experienced in dancing with delicate rhythmic dance movements, held her hands in a dancing posture and slept.

ಅನ್ಯಾಕಕ್ಷಗತೇನೈವ ಮಡ್ಡುಕೇನಾಸಿತೇಕ್ಷಣಾ|
ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಭಾಮಿನೀ ಭಾತಿ ಬಾಲಪುತ್ರೇನ ವತ್ಸಲಾ||38||

ಸ||ವೀಣಾಂ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಕಚಿತ್ ಮಹಾನದೀಪ್ರಕೀರ್ಣಾ ಪೋತಂ ಆಶ್ರಿತಾ ನಳಿನೀ ಇವ ಸಂಪ್ರಕಾಶತೇ||ಅನ್ಯಾಃ ಅಸಿತೇಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಕ್ಷಗತೇನೈವ ಮಡ್ಡುಕೇನ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಇವ ವತ್ಸಲಾ ಬಾಲಪುತ್ರಾ ಭಾಮಿನೀ ಇವ ಭಾತಿ (ಯೋಷಿತಾಂ ದದರ್ಶ)||

One woman slept hugging her Veena. She shone like a lotus plant clinging on to a boat floating in a large river. Another woman slept with Madduka drum held under her arms pits like loving mother holding her baby

ಪಟಹಂ ಚಾರುಸರ್ವಾಂಗೀ ಪೀಡ್ಯಶೇತೇ ಶುಭಸ್ತನೀ|

ಸ|| ಚಾರುಸರ್ವಾಂಗೀ ಶುಭಸ್ತನೀ ಭಾಮಿನೀ ಚಿರಸ್ಯ ರಮಣಂ ಲಬ್ಧ್ವಾ ಪಟಹಂ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯೇವ ಪೀಡ್ಯ ಶೇತೇ (ಭಾಮಿನೀ ದದರ್ಶ)|| ಸ||ಕಮಲಲೋಚನಾ ಕಾಚಿತ್ ವಂಶಮ್ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ರಹಃ ಪ್ರಿಯತಮಮ್ ಗೃಹ್ಯ ಸಕಾಮಾ ಕಾಮಿನೀ ಇವ ಸುಪ್ತಾ (ಕಾಮಿನೀಂ ದದರ್ಶ)||

A charming lady of beautiful breasts lay hugging her Tambourine like a lady having obtained her lover after a long time. Another lotus eyed woman slept embracing lute as if she were a lovelorn lady holding her lover.

ವಿಪಂಚೀಂ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯಾನ್ಯಾ ನಿಯತಾ ನೃತ್ತಶಾಲಿನೀ|
ನಿದ್ರಾವಶಮನುಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಾ ಸಹಕಾಂತೇವ ಭಾಮಿನೀ||41||
ಅನ್ಯಾಕನಕಸಂಕಾಶೈಃ ಮೃದುಪೀನೈಃ ಮನೋರಮೈಃ|
ಮೃದಂಗಂ ಪರಿಪೀಡ್ಯಾಂಗೈಃ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತಲೋಚನಾ||42||

ಸ|| ನೃತ್ತಶಾಲಿನೀ ಅನ್ಯಾ ವಿಪಂಚೀಂ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯ ನಿಯತಾ ಸಹಕಾಂತಾ ಇವ ಭಾಮಿನೀ ವ ನಿದ್ರಾವಶಮ್ ಅನುಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಾ (ಭಾಮಿನೀಂ ದದರ್ಶ)|| ಮತ್ತಲೋಚನಾ ಅನ್ಯಾ ಕನಕಸಂಕಾಶೈಃ ಮೃದುಪೀನೈಃ ಮನೋಹರೈಃ ಅಂಗೈಃ ಮೃದಂಗಂ ಪರಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ||

Another lady expert in dancing over taken by sleep while holding a seven stringed lute as though she was sleeping with her lover. Another woman of golden complexion and delightful limbs with drunken eyes and a soft bosom slept holding a drum.

ಭುಜಪಾರ್ಶ್ವಾಂತರಸ್ಥೇನ ಕಕ್ಷಗೇಣ ಕೃಶೋದರೀ|
ಪಣವೇನ ಸಹಾನಿಂದ್ಯಾ ಸುಪ್ತಾ ಮದಕೃತಶ್ರಮಾ||43||
ಡಿಣ್ಡಿಮಂ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯಾನ್ಯಾ ತಥೈವಾಸಕ್ತ ಡಿಣ್ಡಿಮಾ|
ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ತರುಣಂ ವತ್ಸಂ ಉಪಗುಹ್ಯೇನ ಭಾಮಿನೀ||44||

ಸ|| ಅನಿಂದ್ಯಾ ಕೃಶೋದರೀ ಮದಕೃತ ಶ್ರಮಾ ಭುಜಪಾರ್ಸ್ವಾನ್ತರಸ್ಥೇನ ಕಕ್ಷಗೇನ ಪಣವೇನ ಸಹ ಸುಪ್ತಾ||ಆಸಕ್ತಡಿಣ್ಡಿಮಾ ಅನ್ಯಾ ಡಿಣ್ಡಿಮಂ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯ ತೌಣಂ ವತ್ಸಂ ಉಪಗೃಹ್ಯ ಇವ ಸುಪ್ತಾ||

Another woman of flawless slender stomach exhausted by drunkenness slept with Tabor pressed in her armpits to her bosom . Another one holding a drum slept, holding the drum like she was holding a child.

ಕಾಚಿದಾಡಮ್ಬರಂ ನಾರೀ ಭುಜಸಂಯೋಗಪೀಡಿತಮ್|
ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಕಮಲಪತ್ತ್ರಾಕ್ಷೀ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಮದಮೋಹಿತಾ||45||
ಕಲಶೀ ಮಪವಿಧ್ಯಾನ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಭಾತಿ ಭಾಮಿನೀ|
ವಸಂತೇ ಪುಷ್ಪಶಬಲಾ ಮಾಲೇವ ಪರಿಮಾರ್ಜಿತಾ||46||

ಸ||ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷೀ ಕಚಿತ್ ನಾರೀ ಅಮ್ಬರಮ್ ಭುಜಸಂಯೋಗ ಪೀಡಿತಮ್ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಮದಮೋಹಿತಾ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ||ಕಲಶೀಂ ಅಪವಿಧ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಅನ್ಯಾ ಭಾಮಿನೀ ವಸಂತೇ ಪರಿಮಾರ್ಜಿತಾ ಪುಷ್ಪಶಬಲಾ ಮಾಲೇವ ಭಾತಿ ||

Another one deluded with passion with eyes like that of a lotus slept holding an instrument called Adambaram. Another lady slept pushing aside a vessel filled with water like a garland of variety of flowers set aside .

ಪಾಣಿಭ್ಯಾಂಚ ಕುಚೌ ಕಾಚಿತ್ ಸುವರ್ಣಕಲಶೋಪಮೌ|
ಉಪಗುಹ್ಯಾಬಲಾಸುಪ್ತಾ ನಿದ್ರಾ ಬಲಪರಾಜಿತಾ ||47||
ಅನ್ಯಾಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷೀ ಪೂರ್ಣೇಂದುಸದೃಶಾನನಾ|
ಅನ್ಯಾಮಾಲಿಂಗ್ಯ ಸುಶ್ರೋಣೀಂ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ ಮದವಿಹ್ವಲಾ||48||
ಅತೋದ್ಯಾನಿ ವಿಚಿತ್ರಾಣಿ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ವರಸ್ತ್ರಿಯಃ|
ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ಚ ಕುಚೈಃ ಸುಪ್ತಾಃ ಕಾಮಿನ್ಯಃ ಕಾಮುಕಾನ್ ಇವ||49||

ಸ|| ಕಾಚಿತ್ ಅಬಲಾ ಪಾಣಿಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸುವರ್ಣಕಲಶೋಪಮೌ ಕುಚೌ ಉಪಗುಹ್ಯ ನಿದ್ರಾಬಲಪರಾಜಿತಾ ಸುಪ್ತಾ||ಕಮಲಪತ್ರಾಕ್ಷೀ ಪೂರ್ಣೇಂದುಸದೃಶಾನನಾ ಅನ್ಯಾ ಮದವಿಹ್ವಲಾ ಸುಶ್ರೋಣೀಮ್ ಅನ್ಯಾಂ ಆಲಿಂಗ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸುಪ್ತಾ||ವರಸ್ತ್ರಿಯಃ ವಿಚಿತ್ರಾಣಿ ಆತೋದ್ಯಾನಿ ಪರಿಷ್ವಜ್ಯ ಕಾಮಿನ್ಯಃ ಕಾಮುಕಾನಿವ ಕುಚೈಃ ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ಸುಪ್ತಾ||

Another woman overcome with sleep slept with her hands pressing her own golden goblet like breasts. Another woman with lotus eyes with face like a full moon slept, embracing another woman of beautiful hips who was drowsy having been drunk. Charming ladies slept embracing wonderful instruments pressing them against their bosoms as though they were embracing their loved ones.

ತಾಸಾಮ್ ಏಕಾಂತ ವಿನ್ಯಸ್ತೇ ಶಯಾನಾಂ ಶಯನೇ ಶುಭೇ|
ದದರ್ಶ ರೂಪಸಂಪನ್ನಾಂ ಅಪರಾಂ ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ಸ್ತ್ರಿಯಮ್||50||

ಸ|| ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ತಾಸಾಂ ಏಕಾನ್ತ ವಿನ್ಯಸ್ತೇ ಶುಭೇ ಶಯನೇ ಶಯಾನಮ್ ರೂಪಸಂಪನ್ನಾಮ್ ಸ್ತ್ರಿಯಮ್ ದದರ್ಶ||

The Vanara saw a some women endowed with beauty sleeping separately on excellent beds.

ಮುಕ್ತಾಮಣಿ ಸಮಾಯುಕ್ತೈಃ ಭೂಷಣೈಃ ಸುವಿಭೂಷಿತಾಮ್|
ವಿಭೂಷಯಂತೀಮಿವ ತತ್ ಸ್ವಶ್ರಿಯಾ ಭವನೋತ್ತಮಮ್||51||
ಗೌರೀಂ ಕನಕವರ್ಣಾಭಾಂ ಇಷ್ಟಾಂ ಅಂತಃಪುರೇಶ್ವರೀಮ್|
ಕಪಿರ್ಮಂಡೋದರೀಂ ತತ್ರ ಶಯಾನಾಂ ಚಾರುರೂಪಿಣೀಮ್||52||

ಸ||ಮುಕ್ತಾಮಣಿ ಸಮಾಯುಕ್ತೈಃ ಭೂಷಣೈಃ ಸುವಿಭೂಷಿತಾಂ ತತ್ ಸ್ವಶ್ರಿಯಾ ತತ್ ಭವನೋತ್ತಮಮ್ ವಿಭೂಷಯಂತೀಂ ಇವ ಗೌರೀಂ ಕನಕವರ್ಣಾಭಾಮ್ ಇಷ್ಟಾಂ ಅಂತಃಪುರೇಶ್ವರೀಮ್ ಚಾರುರೂಪಿಣೀಮ್ ತತ್ರ ಶಯಾನಾಂ ಮಂಡೋದರೀಂ (ದದರ್ಶ)||

He saw Mandodari the chief queen of harem very beautiful with golden complexion wearing ornaments embedded with pearls and gems as if lighting the mansion with her own splendor sleeping there.

ಹರ್ಷೇಣ ಮಹತಾಯುಕ್ತೋ ನನಂದ ಹರಿಯೂಥಪಃ||54||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಃ ಸ ಮಾರುತಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಭೂಷಿತಂ ತಾಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ರೂಪಯೌವ್ವನಸಂಪದಾ ಸೀತಾ ಇತಿ ತರ್ಕಯಾಮಾಸ| ಹರಿಯೂಥಪಃ ಮಹತಾ ಹರ್ಷೇಣ ಯುಕ್ತಃ ನನನ್ದ||

Vanara, the son of wind god, seeing her decorated with the wealth of beauty and riches thought, 'This is Sita'. Then the chief of Vanaras rejoiced with joy

ಅಸ್ಫೋಟಯಾಮಾಸ ಚುಚುಂಬ ಪುಚ್ಛಂ
ನನಂದ ಚಿಕ್ರೀಡ ಜಗೌ ಜಗಾಮ|
ಸ್ತಂಭಾನ್ ಆರೋಹಾನ್ ನಿಪಪಾತ ಭೂಮೌ
ನಿದರ್ಶಯನ್ ಸ್ವಾಂ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಂ ಕಪೀನಾಂ||55||

ಸ|| ಆಸ್ಫೋಟಯಾಮಾಸ ಪುಚ್ಛಮ್ ಚುಚುಂಬ ಚಿಕ್ರೀಡ ಜಗೌ ಜಗಾಮ ಸ್ವಾಮ್ ಕಪೀಣಾಂ ಪ್ರಕೃತೀಂ ನಿದರ್ಶಯನ್ ಸ್ತಂಭಾನ್ ಆರೋಹನ್ ನಿಪಪಾತ||

He rejoiced clapping his palms, kissed his tail , sang songs , went about in joy jumped up and down the pillars. Thus he exhibited his natural exuberance as a Vanara.

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ
ಚತುರ್ವಿಂಶತ್ ಸಹಸ್ರಿಕಾಯಾಂ ಸಂಹಿತಾಯಾಮ್
ಶ್ರೀಮತ್ಸುಂದರಕಾಂಡೇ ದಶಮಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ||

Thus ends the tenth Sarga of Sundarakanda in Ramayan , the first ever poem in Sanskrit written by Valmiki||
